Reportedly, so many years ago Mughal emporer Shah Jahan felt in love his third wife Mumtaz Mahal. They had thirteen children and Mumtaz Mahal got pregnant her fourteenth child. Then, Mughal emporer Shah Jahan heard news about his wifes death while he was waiting his 14th child. Emporer was named Gauhara Begum but he felt a deep suffer. For his favorite wife, he mourned who decided to leave a streak in the world.

Today the most visited place of India is Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal seems so many points of the Agra city. Taj Mahal is the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian. Turkish and Indian architectural styles. This tomb is accepted as the most beautiful/biggest landmark in the world for love. Regarding to Mumtaz Mahal died during the birth of their 14th child, Taj Mahal was constructed her memory. In indian culture, womens are sacred who died during the birth our their child so Mumtaz Mahal was also accepted as a sacred woman.

Architectures of Taj Mahal were Mehmed Isa Efendi and Mehmed Efendi Ismail who were students of Mimar Sinan. Calligraphist of Taj Mahal was Serdar Efendi who wrote on Taj Mahal. They were also invited from Istanbul. Construction had started in 1632, had finished in 1652 20 years after. The dome of the Taj Mahal was made from white marble and its height is 82 meters which was maden by architecture Mehmed Ismail Efendi also whole of Taj Mahal construction was used white marble, too. Alem- the crescent (sometimes with a star attached) made out of bronze or copper which is placed on the domes and at the peak of the mosques and minarettes- was maden from gold and it is also on the dome. The tomb has 4 minarets that was amden from white marble. Calligraphist of Taj Mahal Serdar Efendi wrote the whole of Yasin Surah from Quran.

Mughal emporer Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal’s sandukas- empty coffin or sarcophagus placed over the grave of an eminent person are in upstairs, under the dome.

The Taj Mahal was constructed using materials from all over India and Asia and over 1,000 elephants were used to transport building materials. The translucent white marble was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan, the jasper from Punjab, jade and crystal from China. The turquoise was from Tibet and the Lapis lazuli from Afghanistan, while the sapphire came from Sri Lanka and the carnelian from Arabia. In all, twenty eight types of precious and semi-precious stones were inlaid into the white marble.

The principal mausoleum was completed in 1648 and the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later. Emperor Shah Jahan himself described the Taj in these words:
Should guilty seek asylum here,
Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin.
Should a sinner make his way to this mansion,
All his past sins are to be washed away.
The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;
And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.
In this world this edifice has been made;
To display thereby the creator’s glory.
